Pharmacies are generally open 0930-1330 and 1700-2000.

Duty pharmacies (see numbers below) are available 24 hours.

If you are a member of the EU you are entitled to free or reduced cost emergency treatment by the Spanish state health service on production of a completed Form E111.

Private medical treatment is not covered.

If you are a non EU citizen you will have to pay for the cost of the treatment so it is always advisible to take out travel health insurance if your current policies to not cover travel

Private medical insurance is hightly recommended for all visitors to Barcelona and Spain.
