Barcelona Restaurants
Getting something to eat in Barcelona is as easy as ABC. with literally a eating place on nearly every corner but finding something eatable is a slightly different matter.
As in every city around the world there are many cafes all over the centre of the city and Barcelona is no different.
Hundreds of touristy places all along the La Rambla serve various tapa dishes, steaks etc.
There is also a large selection of dodgy places (Mostly Tourist Places) where you will find it hard to finish any food you have ordered.
But fear not there are many simply gorgeous places where you will want to return day after day.
With the weather in Barcelona so good most of the year outdoor terraces are very popular with tourists and locals alike , thousands of people fill all the terrace cafes with a constant stream of busker's to annoy or entertain you. Have some small change ready as you will need it.
If busker's really get on your nerves just wander about checking out the little alley ways, here is where you will find busker free terraces and great food and drink.
When you find yourself around Pl. Catalunya look out for a little square called Plaça Vicenç Martorell, a lovely little area where you can sit among the trees or if you have kids with you there is a playground for to keep them busy while you head for a drink or a bite to eat at the very famous cafe Kasparo, an amazing little place with a big terrace, not really any seats inside but the food is wonderful and the prices are unbeatable value. This side of the square seems to be the sun catching side of the square so you can grab some sun as you enjoy your food.
When in the Gothic quarter pay a visit to the Museum Frederic Mares (MFM) on Placa de Sant Iu, 5 y 6. A little hard to find as it's tucked away on one of the little streets which circle the Cathedral. The Museum entrance is located through the Verger, or garden, that used to be owned by the Royal Palace of the Counts of Barcelona, and also there is an entrance on the street beside the cathedral, Comtes de Barcelona, nice little terrace cafe here also.
Borne area.
Restaurants al la plenty around this area , simply filled with places to eat and drink, cafes, bars and many restaurants.
El Bulli was voted ‘Best Restaurant in the World’ but you have got to book at least six months in advance to get a table.
